Business and other local events

Rooted in the local community, our organisation is regularly asked to take part in social, business and arts events across Kirklees, whether as participants, speakers, panellists or promoters.

Business networking – we hold networking meetings and events for business people to connect and share best practice. This helps local small businesses to support each other and contributes to the local economy.

Sustainable Huddersfield – Communities Together is also supporting the Sustainable Huddersfield project, which is following the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for the town.

Malala Yousafzi – the inspirational Pakistani activist was shot by a masked gunman in 2012, after she spoke out in support of girls’ education. In 2014, she received the Nobel Peace Price, becoming the youngest-ever Nobel laureate. Since then she has graduated from Oxford and champions girls’ education through the Malala Fund. Our CEO Qaisar Mahmood was invited to meet Malala on a visit to Carlton Junior and Infant School in Batley, Kirklees in September 2018.
