Radio Sangam

Our sister organisation Radio Sangam is the only Ofcom-regulated licenced Asian community radio station in Kirklees. Broadcasting 24/7, 365 days a year in Urdu, Punjabi, Sylheti, Arabic, Gujarati and English, the station promotes the heritage and culture of South Asia and is a trusted source of information and education.

The most followed Asian radio station in the UK, only surpassed by the BBC Asian Network, Radio Sangam broadcasts through FM, DAB, a dedicated app and through the internet. The station is actively heard in 52 countries around the globe and has achieved many firsts and won several awards.

Radio Sangam made history when it became the first British station to broadcast live Premiership football and Rugby league matches in South Asian languages, live from the games. The station’s programme also includes shows with medical professionals, offering on-air advice on health, dental health and mental wellbeing.

Radio Sangam is the first port of call for actors, singers, record labels, social media celebrities, and Bollywood and Pakistani A-list film stars when they are promoting their product and cultural output. Communities Together and Radio Sangam work closely with a number of Asian Satellite TV channels and national ethnic minority newspapers in the UK, as partners in editorial and production work.
